Our primary focus this week has been: preparation of the interim terrorism report for the DCI; - formulation of a task-force to address the DABM problem; finalizing the Cruise missile report; and finalizing the Narcotics report. ? Terrorism Report: The report has been forwarded to all working group members, CIPC principals and appropriate IC Staff elements for coordination by noon, 23 December. - Maximum effort is being exerted to get the report to the DCI early afternoon today - community coordination is pouring in. ? Soviet Strategic Defenses -- DABM: Formulation of the ad hoc task force to prepare an interim report for the DCI is progressing smoothly. We hope to have a coordinated copy to you this evening or early next week. - The task force will convene Tuesday, 27 December and get on with the project. ? We are working with the graphic shop and printers to get the Cruise Missil and Narcotics reports published within the next couple of weeks. e ? We will provide the DDCI at the Tuesday 0800 meeting a status report on th Terrorist Report, DABMs and CIPC "Critical Issues" as identified by the e members. 25X1 Narcotics Projects and Activities - ? is drafting his trip report which, among other things, will 25X1 highlight these major findings: - the attention and enthusiam individual mission personnel accorded the CIPC's mission, particularly with regard to the narcotics intelligence question, - the substantial improvement in overall Mission coordination on the narcotics problem, and - awareness and favorable- reaction on the part of individual Defense Attaches to the increased priority the narcotics issue has been given by the DIA. ? The report from the Panel addressing "Use of Classified Information for Drug Enforcement" has been put on the back burner pending completion of the interim report for the DCI on terrorism. 25X1 Miscellaneous ?
