At the 28 July CIPC meeting, the committee remanded the interim report on NFIP Support to Contingency Operations to the working group to provide more specificity and clear up some areas of ambiguity. ? In addition, the committee approved, with some modifications, the China Follow-up Report. ? Per the D/ICS, arrangements are being made for D/ICS a brief overview NFIP Support for Contingency Operations - to provide the ? Comments by several of the members of the work' were included in the interim report, which was prepared by Tony nd Paul, before the CIPC meeting on 28 July. Changes approved at that meeting are being incorporated and a covering memorandum forwarding it to the DCI and the DDCI is also being prepared. In the meantime, work continues on the final report. A paper, "CSEM Phase II Wrap-up," has been completed and a package of materials assembled to summarize what has been accomplished in developing and engineering our CIPC collection strategy evaluation concept. This assemblage runs to 135 pages selected from the newly 400 pages of narrative equations and diagrams we have produced on this project. ? was contacted and reminded of the urgency with which we view is comp a ion of the computer programming for the CSEM model. He is fully aware of his responsibility and has promised to work on it. ? The SDI working group met on 22 July. At that meeting, Carlos and Rich received additional written inputs from DIA, Army, and Air Force. Carlos and Rich informed the working group that they would draft a strawman version of the study using the inputs received to date. The strawman will elicit responses from those entities not tapped during the initial input stage. Most working group members did at least discuss several of the SDI issues that most concerned them and their parent organizations: short-fuse requests for threat assessments, difficulty in ascertaining the status of SDI projects, concern over dissemination of intelligence information to contractors at home and abroad, Community competition with contractors generally, and perceived shortcomings in Community estimates and collection programs. ? In addition to drafting the strawman, Carlos and Rich are eliciting key inputs from SDIO, OSD, State, and CIA (DS&T, DO) and to follow-up on some of the less substantial inputs provided to PPS. Intelligence Support to SDI - ? Tony met with the DCA representatives on the Force Multiplier working group to discuss the DCA's contribution to the study in the area of communications and the dissemination of intelligence to operational commanders.
