The draft minutes of the Fourth CIPC Meeting, held 25 July 1983, were sent to the members of the CIPC for review on 3 August. Comments are requested by COB, 16 August 1983. ? The study terms of reference were revised to accommodate DD/ICS comments and disseminated to CIPC members. Work is proceeding on drafting a more detailed outline of the assessment approach to be followed by the Working Group, when constituted. Narcotics Projects and Activities: ? On 4 August, attended the bi-weekly State/INM Narcotics 25X1 tive ta b d n su s Meeting chaired by Clyde Tay or; the participants discusse developments in the worldwide narcotics scene. ? On 5 August the seventh meeting of the Narcotics Working Group was held. Among the topics discussed were: 1) the Working Group's guidance to DIA for attache involvement in the collection of narcotics intelligence; 2) the establishment of a subpanel on the utilization of intelligence information; and 3) issue papers on collection planning and requirements and on the establishment of the Working Group a a permanent body. (NOTE: On the latter issue, the group decided that should work with 25X1 5X1 intelligence mechanism to ensure the implementation of the NWG's ` recommendations.)
