Ground pre-flight checks were normal but the clock signal on the
span channel did not come on at take-off. This tone came on about one
hour'and fifteen minutes after take-off. A few radar signals were received
during this time but many signals were received after the tone channel
came on. The electronic portion of this recorder has been replaced
until the trouble can be determined.
All other aspects of the mission were satisfactory.
