Mission C423C was laumched from TaiWen at 0030Z on 31
July 1965 and recovered seven host later at 4`(30. Planned
against twenty-six CON)P targets in North Korea, the U-2
was over denied territory for approximately one hour and fifty-
six and notes.
The weather was reported by the pilot to be variable III
(broken clouds), or slightly worse than the predicted Category
II (scattered clouds).
This mission was in response to the COM requirement for
quarterly nigh-resolution coverage of forth >. Previous

Preliminary interpretation of the pnotagraphy indicates
that the aission covered: 13 airfields; 9 military installations;
3 naval facilities; 1 BW/CW center; 3 electric targets; and
4 complexes. to all, 33 CCN* targets were cohered. In
addition, 1 MIG-21 and 1. other unidentified aircraft (believed
to nave been a Anti-21 on tine basis of other evidence) here
