This Mission Coverage Index (MCI) furnishes a listing
of items of intelligence interest in British Guiana covered
by aerial photography from Mission 3254, dated 14 Decem-
ber 1963. Items in this listing are arranged in two sections:
Section I provides summary information for a) newly
identified targets, b) previously reported targets which
show a change, and c) all targets showing order of battle
information.
Section II provides a listing of those targets which can
be identified but not interpreted.
Both sections are arranged 1) by subject, 2) within a
subject by WAC area, and 3) within a WAC area by coordi-
nates reading from south to north and from east to west,
For convenience of the user an index to all targets has
been included following Section II. Targets in the index are
listed alphabetically by place name. Column headings, photo
reference data, and symbols indicating conditions which
affect the appearance of the target on the photography are
explained in the appendix.
The user of this MCI is cautioned that the scan was ac-
complished in a relatively short time and often without the
aid of precise analytical and mensural equipment commonly
employed in detailed photographic analysis. Consequently,
although this information is essentially accurate, further
detailed analysis may somewhat alter portions of the
information.

City, Installation--This column contains the name of
the city or town nearest the installation, followed by the
name of the installation. If the name of the installation is
not known, it is titled according to its function. Where
appropriate, the city and installation names are followed
by a capsule description.
Coordinates--Coordinates are referenced to the SW
corner of the minute square. When the subject installation
covers a wide area, coordinates are given for the approxi-
mate center of the installation.
WAC--This column provides the World Aeronautical
Chart number for the area in which the subject installation
is situated.
Installation Numbers--This column is divided into two
subcolumns. The first subcolumn lists, when known, the
BE installation number assigned to the installation. The
second subcolumn lists the installation number assigned
by NPIC. Installation numbers, when used to reference
an item, should be prefixed by the appropriate WAC number,
since installation numbers are repeated from WAC to WAC.
For example, there is an NPIC target number 0893-1 and
an NPIC target number 0894-1. In each instance, the NPIC
installation number is 1, but the installations appear on dif-
ferent WAC charts.
Target numbers assigned by the Committee on Over-
head Reconnaissance (COMOR), when available, are listed
directly above the photo reference line.
The photo reference data indicates the frame(s) on
which the installation appears.
Following the photo reference data, symbols indicate
conditions which affect the appearance of the installation on
the photography. The symbols are: C (clear); SC (scattered
clouds); HC (heavy clouds); SC-HC (scattered-to-heavy
clouds); H (haze); CS (cloud shadow); D(darkness); SD (semi-
darkness); 0 (obliquity); S (snow); PQ (poor image quality);
and IC (incomplete photographic coverage).
