This memorandum contains a recommendation for approval of the Director of Central Intelligence. Such recommendation is set forth in Paragraph 5. 2. Contract No. FL-3011 provides for the design, fabrication and delivery of a high resolution, single channel side looking radar equipment and related items for use in aircraft under the subject project. Amendment No. 1 provides for the design and fabrication of two low altitude antennas, one for right hand installation and one for left hand installation, for use with the low altitude radar mapping system under the P2V program. 3. Contract No. FL-3011 obligated a total of $1,080,455 of Fiscal Year 1956 AQUATONE funds chargeable to Project EQUTAIE. This Amendment No. 1 obligates $139,649. of Fiscal Year 1956 funds charge- able to Air Maritime Division Allotment 6-2119-52-020, Project 4. By memorandum dated 29 July 1955 from the Director of Central Intelligence to the Comptroller, and in accordance with the provisions of Section 10(b) of Public Law 110, the Director of Central Intelligence has certified that the sum of $3,500,000 is available for expenditure for Project EQUINE. The total obligations to date for Contract No. FL-3011 and Amendment No. 1, thereto, are $1,080,1155. of AQUATONE funds for Project EQUINE and $139,649. of Project funds, or a total obligation of $1,220,104. Subsequent contractual arrange- ments will be negotiated for additional spare parts, and additional engineering, liaison and maintenance services.
