1. Congratulations. The CIA Training Selection Board recently considered
nominations to attend Senior Officer Schools. the Board recommended to Robert
M. Gates, Deputy Director of Central Intelligence, that you be nominated to
attend the College of Naval Warfare during the 1988/89 academic year, and that
recommendation has been approved. I am confident that you will find it a
stimulating and rewarding year. In the next few months, you will be receiving
additional information on your attendance at the college.
2. Your selection is an expression of the Agency's belief that you are
making and will continue to make a significant contribution to our work. I
and the Board strongly believe that you are precisely the kind of person who
must make a contribution to our efforts to prepare CIA people for the
challenge that is ahead.
