SUBJECT: Request for Rental of Satellite Dish
(Downlink)
1. In order to achieve the objectives of the Spanish Extended
Total Immersion Program, it is vital that the trainees be immersed
at all times in the target language.
2. Exposure to authentic speech broadcast from Hispanophone
countries would provide the trainees with superior quality
linguistic input and would permit us to satisfy their personal and
job-related needs to stay current with world events via the target
language. It would thus enable us to deny them access to
'English-language media to satisfy these needs.
3. We request, therefore, that a satellite dish antenna, capable
of receivin TV broadcasts from entral outl~ America, be rented and
installed from 04 May to 26 June 1987.

$150.00 per day.
