The Office of Logistics (OL) has been, and will continue, pursuing various major items with the General Services A~3ministra- tion (GSA) in regards t:o the 2430 E Street, Washington, i~.C., com- plex.~ GSA :zas hired a consulting firm to conduct an independent investigation and make recommendations for improvements. The Real Estate and Construction Division (RECD), OL, has identified to GSA and their consu7.tant specific areas of concern. ~~SA has advised RECD/OL that it: will not implement action on any recom- mendations until the survey is completed. 2. The Safety Group, Office of Security, has made a draft copy of its occupation~~l safety and health inspection ~-e~~ort for the E Street complex available for RECD/OL review. A number of electrical deficiencies;, such as improperly grounded outlets, missing junction box covers, etc., have been identifiedi .in the safety report. Deficiencies in the fire protection systf~m, such as defective heat detec:tors, improperly maintained fire extin- guishers, etc., were also noted. Corrections to the e]_ec:trical and fire protection systems, as well as housekeeping needs, will be vigorously pursued by the Logistics Services Division, OL, through the Office of 'T'echnical Service and GSA.
