1. We are happy to be able to provide you with information concerning
positive actions taken by General Services Administration (GSA) on the subject
Health and Safe'-y Report. It should be understood that the results were
obtained only Lecause of the constant "proddin ' efforts of 25X1
OTS Logistics and 01_/LSD. 25X1
2. Approximately 72% of the electrical deficiencies cited in section
1 of the report have been corrected. This included the replacing of face
plates and the installation of 16 permanent receptacles to replace extension
cords and/or power strips. The problem concerning the reduction of the impedance
to 2 ohms or less has been surveyed by the GSA Fire and Safety Division and
they have finally agreed that it is a hazard. It is anticipated that they will
start work on this problem in the near future.F----] 25X1
3. The OTS Security Officer and a member of the Logistics Staff have been
inspecting various locations throughout the buildings and are having the areas
cleared of excess materials cited in sections 2, 3 and 7, Steps have also been
taken to alleviate the chemical stora e roblems cited in section 3. These
phases has not yet been completed. 25X1
4. We are continuing to have problems with GSA not responding to service calls
from our office. OTS/Logistics is the central point for all personnel within
the complex when something is wrong in their area. We then telephone GSA with
the problem and provide the room number and enter it into our Service Request
Log. We note the date, time and name of person taking our calls. These calls
vary from leaking faucets to heating or cooling problems. In a discussion with
Mr. "Sonny" Cook, Chief of the State Building Group, he stated that he did not
have enough people or in some instances not enough money to respond to the requests.
It was suggested to him that perhaps he should advise his supervisor of these
shortcomings.
