A - Fire Escape (steel/concrete/interior stair/safety
secondary egress) East Building - Contract No.
GS-OWB-18300. GSA's contractor started preparation
for installation of the fire escape on 14 May 1982
by removing unused duct work and preparing ground
for footing.
Concrete footing poured week of 18 June 1982.

B - Paint offices in entire complex. Work started
17 March 1982 and is approximately 90% complete.
As of 23 June 1982, painting was discontinued due
to pending renovation in the basement of South
Building and water leaks in two bathrooms.-of

C - Health and Safety Project Actions Update -
1. Since the last update, GSA work force replaced
three more window A/C units, bringing the total to
eight replacements this year.
2. Water continues to leak from the attic of Central
Building to the floor below, causing ceiling tiles
and plaster to fall. (Rm. 217Y
3. Two bathrooms in Central Building were not painted
due to wet walls. These rooms are the ones that GSA
promised to repair over a year ago.
4. Cleaning force is improving weekly.
5. Water continues to run across the lower parking
area behind South Building.

D - Landscaping and Clean-up of Grounds - GSA commercial
contractor is continuing to improve the grounds of
2430 E Street. The improvement is a
90% increase over last year.
