Thank you for your letter of May 10, 1983, concerning the Federal Capital
Improvements Program funding proposal for the Central Intelligence Agency
headquarters consolidation. We have advised the full Commission and CIA of
your interest and concern in continuing coordination of the project plans,
including access improvements.
The current Federal Capital Improvements Program funding proposal for the
CIA project Is part of an annual routine reporting of long range capital
project funding requirements of Federal agencies in the National Capital
Region. Its inclusion in the program does not in any way affect the CIA
commitment to coordinate further with the surrounding community on plans
for the project. The CIA staff has reiterated to our staff in recent
discussion that it remains fully committed to such coordination when plans
are available. The Commission will not take action on development plans as
part of its review of the capital improvements program.
If you have concerns regarding the coordination of the project plans during
the coming months, please contact Robert Gresham of our staff, on 724-
0191.
