OF 36 VEHICLES HAVE BEEN FORMED IN THE BIVOUAC AREA

ONDANGWA AIRFIELD, NAMIBIA
AND FOUR OF THE EIGHT MB.326 HAVE BEEN PULLED OUT
FROM UNDER THEIR SUNSCREENED REVETMENTS. A FUEL TRUCK IS
PARKED BETWEEN TWO OF THE MB-326, AND UNDERWING
STORES/MUNITIONS ARE UPLOADED. TWO POSSIBLE BOMB DOLLIES ARE
ALSO NEAR THE AIRCRAFT. ONE C-160 IS ON THE PARKING APRON.

(S/D) THE LAST OCCURRENCE OF SIGNIFICANT MILITARY ACTIVITY AT
THIS AIRFIELD WAS WHEN TWO MIRAGE F-1 ARMED 25X1
WITH AIR-TO-AIR MISSILES AND TWO MIRAGE III/V WERE HERE FOR
PROBABLE RECONNAISSANCE PURPOSES. THIS RECENT INCREASE IN
ACTIVITY IS INDICATIVE OF CONTINUING SOUTH AFRICAN MILITARY
OPERATIONS INTO SOUTHERN ANGOLA.
(S/D) ONDANGWA AIRFIELD IS 36 NM SOUTH OF THE NAMIBIA-ANGOLA
BORDER.
