On 26 February 1985 at 1430 hours in room H-144, The Capitol, the House Appropriations Committee (HAC), Subcommittee on Defense was briefed on Nicaragua. Security was ken. Bill Young (R., FL) 3. Please see Memorandum for the Record, that date, by The Committee, which had already sat through the DCI worldwide briefing of some five hours, appeared tired, and questioning was not particularly vigorous. Refer to the transcript for details on the questioning. The Committee was again assured by the briefers that no, repeat no, support was being given by the Agency and that we were in complete compliance with the intent of Congress. 6.
