URUGUAY
The film State of Siege exposes U.S.
assistance to the repressive regime in
Uruguay, particularly in the person of Dan
/Mitrione, a CIA agent posing as a com-
munications specialist. As if to illustrate the
point, the State Department's Agency for
International Development announced the
sale Aug. 24 of equipment to the Uruguayan
government for air-ground com-
munications.
