Carlos Lacerda, a key man in
the revolutionary government of
Brazil, has called for elimina-
tion of the Castro regime from
the community of the Americas.
Mr. Lacerda, governor of.
Guanabara state (Rio do
Janeiro) and considered most
likely to be Brazil's next
President, told the National
Press Club yesterday the
presence of the Castro govern-
ment in Cuba is "an insult and-
a danger to all of us."
Ilis remarks indicated Brazil;
which has not recently been in
the fore-front of the ranks of
Castro's enemies, might align
itself with the United States for
a hard resolution against Cuban
of American States.
The OAS Council meets today
to vote on a place and date for
a session of hemisphere foreign,
ministers to take up Venezue-'
la's complaint of subversive
activity against Cuba.
Mr. Laccrda said the majority,
of the people of Latin America
regretted that America had not
acted quickly and successfully',
