MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT Nieman Fellowship Meeting in Cambridge
Jim Thomson called yesterday to say how pleased
he was that you would be coming up to the Nieman Fellows.
He said the usual format would be followed. The talk
would be off-the-record and the persons present would be
the Nieman Fellows and their wives with a couple of
guests. By this he meant his own br9ther who is going
with us, Professor Dan H. H. Ingalls
Y _ -- -1 T
Lyons, former curator. These are people I asked to be
included. Jim said that although campuses had toned
down somewhat from recent years, he could not help but
say that a number of the Fellows were quite concerned
about the Agency and Chile.
Jim also wanted to emphasize once again that seven
or eight of this yearts Fellows are foreigners. I said
you were aware of this.
Attached you will find the list of this year's
Fellows.
