Dear Mr. Colby:
By copy of the enclosed letter I have learned of
the invitation extended to you by the California-
Nevada-Hawaii District of Kiwanis International
to be the guest speaker at their "Day With Your
Legislators1t program scheduled for next May 5.
It would certainly mean a great deal to the
Kiwanians for you to accept. Hence, this is to
express the hope you will give serious considera-
tion to their invitation and that your response
will be favorable.

Dear Mr. Colby:
On May 5, 1976, over 1000 Kiwanians and their ladies, along with Key Clubbers,
Circle K and Keywanettes (the youth of the Kiwanis Family) from all over our
great State, will go to Sacramento, California for our annual "Day With Your
Legislators." This is a well established program within our District.
These Kiwanians will be meeting with their various legislators both formally
and informally during the morning. We will be taking the results of a poll
of our 37,500 K Family members to our Governor and Legislators, This is
expected to be the largest poll ever undertaken in our State by any group (as
f:ir as we know) on'several vital issues of the day.
The main affair is a luncheon when we sit down with our Legislators as our guests.
And that is precisely the point of this letter. We want you to be our guest
speaker at that occasion!!
We recognize it is several months away to May 5, 1976. We also realize we want
to get our invitation in we.11 in advance so as to be first in line.
Therefore, please carefully consider this invitation and respond with a "yes"
which may be subject to your further consideration. May I assure you a warm
welcome on our part with attentive and appreciative ears.
Mr. Hugh D. Morgan, Chairman, Public and Business Affairs Committee, 3030 Telegraph
Ave., Berkeley, California 94705, 415/845-2132, will be our person in charge and will
do the follow-up with you so as to assure a smooth and complete affair. Please
accept.
