SUBJECT UFOs Discussed by Spaulding and Zackle of Ground Saucer Watch
JANE PAULEY: Well, the Defense Department confirmed
less than a week ago that UFOs visited a string of its super-
sensitive nuclear missile and bomber sites in 1975 over a two-
week period.
Now, UFO only means "unidentified"; it doesn't auto-
matically mean flying saucers were looking at the missile sites.
But the question is, "Who was?"
This information, however, was kept secret for more
than three years, until an organization called Ground Saucer
Watch, made up of scientists, engineers and technicians, [un-
intelligible] using the Freedom of Information Act.
Our guests this morning are both members of the Ground
Saucer Watch. William Spaulding is its director. He is also,
by profession, a quality control engineer in aerospace. And
Todd Zackle (?), Director of Research and an investigator of the
Ground Saucer Watch.
First of all, gentlemen, who saw these unidentified
flying objects in 1975, and what specifically did they see?
MAN: Well, mostly military personnel, security per-
sonnel, tracked on radar at various bases, tracked on radar by
NORAD, seen by sabotage alert teams at missile sites. Enough
people and equipment racked UFOs to confirm that there was
really something there. There's no doubt about it.
PAULEY: What did it look like?
MAN: Well, most of the reports allude to the UFOs
