The Senate Intelligence Committee voted approval for a third of,the White House request for $21 million. The rest of that money was set aside awaiting CIA justification of its need. This clears the way for a new vote by the Senate Appropriations Committee, which last week rejected the request. That committee also is considering an administration request to triple, by adding $93 million in emergency U.S. military aid to El Salvador.
