The survey was made at Clark AFB and at Baguio. Clark provided the best reception, with signals from 29 AM broadcasters, including the opposition Radio Veritas and other radios as far away as Cebu, Negros, and Panay. Twenty-two FM stations were also heard at Clark. Because most Philippine broadcasters specialize in music and entertainment, an FBIS operation in the Philippines would not be likely to significantly improve collection at this time. In an emergency, however, it would be useful to send in a small monitoring team. FBIS will also conduct a new reception surv the Philippines from Ishigaki Island (Japan) in the next few weeks. + The head of the Library of Congress curatorial section for Motion Pictures, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound visited FBIS on 13 February for a briefing on FBIS television monitoring. He wishes to use FBIS mate- rials for an archive of world television he is establishing. FBIS and OCR are coordinating a response on how best to provide materials.
