Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/05: CIA-RDP87M01007R000100250001-9 sS c-T..,- r ,.l. 7 July 1986 To: From: D/ICS Subject: SSCI Regional Security Briefings on July 16 F 17 As you requested, I was able to get the line-up of witnesses for the SSCI session on 17 July, which will focus on the Persian Gulf states: --DIO (ME/South Asia) --NIO (Near East/South Asia) Daniel Webster --Dep Asst Sec State - Marion Creekmore --DASD/ISA Amb. Robert Pelletrau Natalie Bocock and Robin Cleveland are the two SSCI staffers handling the 17th session, which will start at 1600. Jim Currie is the SSCI staffer handling the 16 July session on Latin America/Mexico. Mr. Currie has been on leave, and no one seems to know who will attend, but I would expect it to be the NIO (Mr. Vickers), someone from State (probably Elliott Abrams' shop), and a representative from ASD/ISA. Steve Ockenden told me the focus will be on Mexico, and my guess is that it will be a session very similar to the one they had on the Philippines (i.e., current status, U.S. aid posture, Sen Bradley may come with questions on the debt issue, etc.) cc: DD/ICS EXO/ICS D/PBS Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/05: CIA-RDP87M01007R000100250001-9
