Council of range ounty, invited you to be the guest speaker at one of their
dinner meetings at a hotel in the Orange County area. You could expect an
audience of approximately 800 prominent Orange County citizens which would
include CEOs from the leading industries of the area. (See brochure opposite

1,800 representative citizens of this area. Its purpose is to give its

With a population of over two million, Orange County is a very
conservative community with 8 out of 10 registered voters voting Republican.

THE WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL OFFICERS
The World Affairs Council of Orange County is a
community educational organization, non-partisan
and non-profit, with a membership of more than
1800 representative citizens of this area. Its pur-
pose is to give its members and their guests the
opportunity to learn about and discuss the facts and
issues shaping American foreign and defense policy.
The Council takes no political stand, and never
advocates any specific policy or action. It seeks to
present all sides of complicated policy questions in
the belief that an informed public opinion is the
democratic basis for sound national policy.
The Council, formerly a division of the long estab-
lished and highly successful Los Angeles World
Affairs Council, is independent of any national or
international organization. Financial support is de-
rived entirely from membership, both individual and
organizational. Dues range from $20 per year for an
individual to $30 per year for a couple. Corporate or
organizational memberships begin at $200. Council
policy is determined by a Board of Trustees of well-
known citizens of the Orange County area.
Membership in the World Affairs Council means
being a part of one of the most prestigious citizen's
organizations in the nation.
By joining and supporting the Council, you make it
possible for the community to receive the leading
figures of our time, and to provide them with a
distinguished forum to discuss the major issues
confronting the world. Indeed, membership is a key
contribution to the cultural vitality of your com-
munity.
The Officers and Trustees of the World Affairs
Council of Orange County take pleasure in extend-
ing to you their cordial invitation to membership.
