SUBJECT: NSC 90-Day Schedule
1. In a recent meeting with Bill Ma in, Executive Secretarty, NSC,
I learned that he has instituted a 90- y schedule of NSC priorities and
activities. Bud and John use this as a planning tool with senior NSC
staffers and, according to Martin, a President finds it useful.
2. I asked if we could hav a copy, noting it would be useful in
tailoring our effort to suppor t~ieir requirements. We, along with State
and DoD, have been provided a copy (attached) of the first such
effort--it covers September hrough P~ovember, thus we are already half
way through the period. W have also received a copy of a large flow
chart which reflects many of the key events; I can show you this at your
convenience as it is to large to copy.
3. You will note that many sensitive issues are not reflected in
this document (e.g. SPG meetings, covert action initiatives, etc). This
is intentional du to wide use of this document in the White House by
national security and domestic policy staffs.
4. I have been assured we will be provided copies of subsequent
editions.
