SUBJECT: National Security Council Meeting on Central
America; January 10, 1986 (S)
My memo of November 19 informed you that a National Security
Council meeting on US policy toward Central America would be held
on December 10. As you have already been informally notified,
the date for the meeting has been changed to Friday,
January 10, 1985; 11:00-12:00 PM. The NSC meeting will be held
in the Cabinet Room of the White House. Principal plus one
assistant is invited. An agenda for the meeting is attached. (S)
As stated in my previous memo, the key issue which the meeting
will address is the need to maintain a policy toward Nicaragua
which demonstrates a clear prospect of success. We have
shortened the list of papers to be prepared for the NSC meeting.
The representatives of State, DOD, and State who participate in
the Restricted Interagency Group/Latin America are requested to
submit the following papers to Raymond Burghardt of the NSC Staff
by COB Friday, January 3, 1985: (S)
