Approved For Release 2006/01/03 : CIA-RDP87B01034R000500140082-6 SENSITIVE ACCESS EXAMINATION (SAE) The SAE is limited in scope to seven basic questions, all dealing with various aspects of espionage and sabotage directed against the U.S. The SAE should not include any references to suitability issues and examiners are to be directed that, under no circumstances, will suitability information be discussed during the SAE. The SAE questions are: 1. Have you ever been approached to engage in espionage or sabotage against the U.S.? 2. Have you ever engaged in espionage or sabotage against the U.S.? 3. Do you know anyone who is engaged in espionage or sabotage against the U.S.? 4. Have you ever been approached to give or sell any classified materials to unauthorized persons? 5. Have you ever given or sold any classified material to unauthorized persons? 6. Do you know anyone who has given or sold classified materials to unauthorized persons? 7. Do you have any unauthorized contact with representatives of a foreign government? The only other questions to be used during the SAE are certain irrelevant identity questions and certain control or thought provoking questions. These questions are utilized for technical purposes in validating the polygraph charts and are in accordance with accepted polygraph techniques.
