SUBJECT: DCID 1/14 Revision
1. It is requested that the captioned Subject again be addressed by
your Committee, since, as you are aware, it has been deferred pending
certain actions to be taken by the Department of Defense. Such deferral
was based on an agreement reached by the Director, Intelligence Community
Staff and the OSD policy head. This remand action does not reflect any
question with respect to the previous efforts of the Subcommittee. (C)
2. However, in. light of the changing environment in the personnel
security area it is believed that this will offer us an opportunity to review
the DCID and, perhaps, recast more definitively some of the proposals made
earlier. (C)
