The Committee is committed to expeditiously reviewing the contents of the new Order and forwarding its comments and observations to the Administration. Senator Goldwater has requested that the review of the Order be handled by the Subcommittee on Legislation and the Rights of Americans. To better understand the differences between the proposed Order and E.O. 12065, the Subcommittee will conduct a briefing on the proposed Order prior to forwarding its comments to the Administration. We wish to invite you to_ appear before the Subcommittee at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 1982 in Room S-407 of the Capitol to discuss the proposed Order. The meeting will be closed. While you are invited to present any comments you wish on the new Order, the Committee requests that you be prepared to answer questions on the changes in the Executive Order and its impact on the work of your Agency- The Committee is committed to expeditious consideration of the matter and appreciates your cooieration.
