NPIC DATA SYSTEM (NDS) DATA COLLECTION WORKING GROUP
15 April 1981
1. Purpose
Effective 8 April 1981, the NDS Data Collection Working Group is established.
Under the auspices of the OCB, the NDS Data Collection Working Group will provide
NPIC management recommendations on the type of NDS performance data that should
be collected; recommendations on establishing and implementing a method for pro-
viding assurance that the NDS is performing at or near specification; recommendations
on related projects that should be undertaken to provide overall NDS performance
enhancement; and, summaries and evaluations of data collected and related project
results.
2. Definition
As it relates to the NDS Data Collection Working Group, the NDS is as
defined in the NDS Baseline Operations document (N40403).
3. Membership
The NDS Data Collection Working Group membership will be:

4. Responsibilities
The NDS Data Collection Working Group will be responsible for:
a. Defining
(1) Data collection parameters and tools which will assist in:
(a) adequate measurement of system performance
(b) verification of baseline performance requirements as
defined in Appendix 10 of the NDS Baseline Operations document
(N40403)

(c) problem resolution (DRs and other documented deviations
from approved specification)
(d) transition from the Univac 1100/44 to the 1100/84
(e) system performance enhancements for the near-term and
for future efforts being managed by the NDP.
(2) evaluation criteria
(3) processing and reporting methodology.
b. Preparing appropriate schedules and monitoring data collection efforts
c. Evaluating the data collected
d. Proposing near-term projects which, based on the data evaluated,
will improve NDS performance.
e. Providing the OCB, and other NPIC management functions when
directed, with the group's findings and recommendations.
5. Procedures
The NDS Data Collection Working Group will:
a. Meet on a regularly scheduled basis with special meetings called
as determined by the Chairman.
b. Review the progress of all projects and data collection efforts
to include schedules, milestones, resources utilized and interim results
c. Provide reports as required to the OCB.
6. Charter Review
The OCB will review the results of the NDS Data Collection Working Group
effort every six months in order to determine the necessity of continuing the
