Red:
1. Status of the Alit:n Dulles placque.
A. Heinz Wc..rnecke has had several sittings with
Allen Dulles and has prepared a placque in clay. He has
the size and shape ha wants and has tested it in the en-
trance way. He is quite satisfied with his work in this
regard.
B. He feels the placque should be made of marble
rather than bronze and to this end we have provided him
with samples of mar ble similar to the wall which he will
chip away at to see if it is suitable.
C. I have provided hirri the following inscription
for planning purposes.
"t?Mllen Welsh Dulles
=iirecto ~ i'of Central Intelligence' 1953-1961
This Headquarters was his concept and
ar de r his guidance was built.
U. 1 have asked him to submit the cost price for
delivery of the completed work to the building to include
cost of marble and his own fee.
