The Health Benefits Officer Information Bulletin dated April 25, 1966, was inadvertently numbered 26. Please change the number of that bulletin to 27 since number 26 had been previously used for bulletin dated March 21, 1966.) 1. Own Season. The Commission's proposal that an open season be held .November 14-30, 1966, has been approved. Detailed information about brochures, notices to employees, and open season procedures, will be issued later. 2. Amendment of Health Benefits Act. H.R. 14122, which is now pending before the Congress, would, among other things, amend the Federal`. Employees Health Benefits Act as follows; a. Permit coverage of unmarried children o age 22 instead of age 21; b. Increase the Government's biweekly co tribution for health bene- fits enrollments to $1.68 for self o ly enrollments and $4.10 for self and family enrollments; howev , if the total biweekly sub- scription charge is less than $3.3 for self only or $8.20 for ' to 5O% of the subscription charge. c. Permit employees who go on leave without pay for the purpose of serving as full-time officers or employees of a Federal employee organization to continue health benefits enrollments under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program by paying. both the employee withholdings and the agency contributions. Enactment of these amendments appears likely, and FPM letters giving complete information and instructions will be issued soon after enactment.
