SUBJECT Transmittal of Interagency Intelligence Assessment
on Chile
1. Attached is the Interagency Intelligence Assessment, "Chile:
Prospects for Pinochet", that was requested by the Assistant Secretary of
State for Interamerican Affairs. Could you please forward it to the Assis-
tant Secretary.
2. The assessment was prepared under the auspices of the National
Intelligence Officer for Latin America, coordinated by the NFIB represen-
tatives, and approved by the DDI, Bob Gates, and the C/NIC, Harry Rowen.
We intend to give it limited distribution within CIA and at the working
level of the Intelligence Community as well. Any feedback you,get from
the Assistant Secretary on the assessment would be much appreciated.
