Tne official induction will take place at a Hall of Fame Banquet to be held in the Washington Hilton Hotel from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on 23 May 1989. As you know, Dr. Jones w~~s a brilliant pioneer in the developmeizt an.~ employnent of countermeasures to German radio and navigational "~omf,ing s;~stems in World War II. In addition, he has been a prolific, :,c:ientific irnovator~ throughout his long .and successful career. He iaw~ made, and continues to make, outstanding contributions to the Free ~?'orld's electronic defense capability. The induction of Dr. Jones into the Hall of Fame is in recogni- tian of his life long pioneering achievements in a totallyvnew field of cndzavor. Each professional in this field is indebted to Dr. Janes for his history making contributions during ~rlorld War II and continued leadershir in the profession. The Association has invited General John W. Vessey, Jr., the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to present the Hall of Fame Award to Dr. Jones. We would be honored to have you and Mrs. Casey as our headtable quests at the banquet and at the reception which will be ~i'.eld immediately preceding the banquet.
