84-.2,
1. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your contribution
to the Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) modeling effort. The work that
was performed promises to have significant impact on how the Army approaches
training in the future. I believe this project may represent a breakthrough
in skill acquisition. The dedication and professionalism displayed by each
member of the multi-agency team are worthy of commendation.
2. Of special note were the results of the .45 caliber pistol shooting model
which was tested on 2-3 May 1984. The fact that the NLP model was executed
in less than half the training time, and with half the ammunition while
exceeding comparative scores attests to the potential for vast savings this
system may bring when applied to this and other skills.
3. I urge each of you to continue to use your creative skills in furthering
this important effort. The limits are only in your imagination.
4. A copy of this letter should be placed in your official personnel file.
Again, thank you for a job well done.
