MEMORANDUM FOR NATIONAL FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE COUNCIL
SUBJECT: Soviet Ballj5Jir 'le Defense: Response to an Intelligence
Challenge 25X1
1. The attached CIPC study on Soviet Ballistic Missile Defense has been
endorsed by all NFIC Members. I am therefore approving the study for
implementation, as appropriate. Furthermore, I have tasked the CIPC to review
the status and results of implementing the recommendations and report their
findings to me within the next six months.
2. I believe that the study is another excellent example of what can be
accomplished by the Intelligence Community. I should like to take this
opportunity to thank the organizations that assisted and supported the CIPC in
this study effort.
