1. I have recently been briefed on a plan developed by the Intelligence
Information Handling Committee (IHC) for the development of a Community
Information Retrieval System. I believe that this is a worthwhile project for
the Community to pursue, provided potential security problems can be
adequately addressed.
2. The success of such a plan will depend upon the coordinated support
of the agencies concerned. can arrange for you to receive the

General Williams, Hugh Montgomery, and asking for
their comments after they have had an opportunity to be rie a on the plan.
General Faurer has already been briefed by his people, and they report that he
indicated his support and approval.
2. We will, of course, also be arranging to brief other key individuals
throughout the Community who may be affected by the plan. -
