SUBJECT: CIRIS-72 Data Call for DOD
1. When Messrs. Tweedy and urned yesterday afternoon from 25X1

3. Mr. Tweedy said that I could release my mock-u? CIRIS Instructions

y could get started internally. Likewise, can make
available CIRIS-72 forms if they are desired.'
4. We are to prepare proposed implementing letter. Not clear to me
whether is sYiould be signed by DCI, or tweedy, or Hail (for DOD) ; in
any event, I am going to put together a draft, and I intend to pattern it
on the DASD(I) promulgating letter for last year's CIRIS. I will be
checking this with Showers. Also will review this with Hurwitz when I
have a draft. Also it may well be desirable to show this to Segal in
advance so that he can keep his people in line and calm. I plan no
contact with DASD(I) staff.
5. I mentioned to Mr. Tweedy transmittal to CIA (Mr. Colby) and
State (Mr. Cline). Mr. Tweedy said that he wanteo take care of
ASD(I) first. Therefore, I told this morning to keep working 25X1
on his own briefing paper and specific comments for his front office, but
try to keep Briggs from getting a Colby briefing or transmittal frcm us
to Colby pushed too fast. 0 can handle this, he thinks. I am
calling John Thro, State, to arrange for him to get a copy of my CIRIS-72
mock-up notebook.
6. I had Charlene Confirm with Printing people today that they are
giving us their best efforts. I have asked for printed copies of the
CIRIS Annexes by the middle of next week -- ca 23 Feb. 72.
