This will confirm the fact that we have arranged to brief on
DDN, DODIIS, and DODIIS networking beginning at 1030 here on e ruary STAT
23rd. For your information, I am attaching a copy of the letter I am sending
to DCA which outlines the schedule and the points we are asking them to
address. In the area of DODIIS networking we would like to have the status of
IDHSC II and the new IDHSC II/COINS gateway covered, as well as the overview
of the future DODIIS network and its relation to the overall DDN program. In
addition we would like a brief review of all of the individual contracts which
are underway or are to be executed in FY 84 in support of DODIIS networking,
i.e., the NFE, NQL, 21-V-NFE interface implementation, the PACOM IBM interface
effort, DODIIS standard terminal, and a discussion of plans for the future
DODIIS/COINS gateway and what must be done to accomplish this. 117

Thir, nfirm that we have arran for a series of briefings for
new Chairman of IHC,ed
starting at 1030 on 23 February. We plan to start
with an overview briet ing on DDN from DCA. We would like this to include a
review of the current status and future plans, with special emphasis on the
IPLI. It would also be desirable to include the present status of planning,
for AUTODIN I and the Interservice AMPE project. We anticipate that your
briefing, together with time for discussion and questions, should be from 45
minutes to an hour.
Your briefing will be followed by briefings on DODIIS and the DODIIS
subnet of DDN presented by DIA. You will be welcome to stay for these
briefings which we anticipate will conclude at 1230 or 1300 hours.
