STAT We are planning~ld trip to Washington sometime in March and would like to request a briefing at the Central Intelligence Agency. I contacted) STAT about this matter last week and he suggested that I write you and give a STAT description of our organization. STAT We have tentatively set our field trip for either Friday, March 19, 1982, or Friday, March 26, 1982. Our group will include approximately fifteen students and two faculty sponsors. So far our trip includes a visit to the Pentagon where we will visit a professor from James Madison University who is now employed by the Pentagon. We would also like to visit the Central Intelligence Agency in order to get a better understanding of a federal agency. If you feel that such a visit would be feasible on either of the dates I have mentioned please contact me. If the dates I mentioned are not suitable ]please feel free to offer alternative ones. The Deputy Director of our Agency has approved a proposal to brief the on March 19, 1982. Our plans STAT call for the briefing to commence at a.m. and to be completed by 11:00 a.m. A senior Agency briefing officer has agreed to meet with you for that period, to "introduce" you to our organization and its functions, and to answer ques- tions that might arise. I shall need from you, at the earliest opportunity, a list of the students and faculty members who will be participating in the briefing, along with their social security numbers. This information is required of all visitors to Agency grounds. An additional requirement is that all visitors must possess U.S. citizenship. You should also provide me with information about the vehicle, or vehicles, that will be bringing your group to our Headquarters so that the guards may be alerted and pass you through their post'promptly. If our proposal for a morning briefing on the 19th of March is acceptable to you, I shall expect to meet you at the main entrance to the CIA Headquarters Building in Langley (off Route 123) at 9:30 on that date.
