Just a short note to thank you for all your help on
both providing a reading list for the course on the CIA and
the final field trip to Washington.
The students were quite impressed with the whole thing.
Impressed that is, in the usual New York tough guy, cynical
manner. They believed some of what they saw and about half
of what they heard. What was good. about the whole thing is
that it helped di-mystify the CIA a bit. This I think is
badly needed. Before the trip and the course, it was easy
to dump all U.S.A. internal and external problems at the
door of the CIA. Now some of the students are not so sure.
One even submitted an article to Commentary on the question
of nationl security. In a sense you were building a
constituency.
The staff people were quite good in dealing with the
students. Especially Mr.
I wrote to General Walters and he promised that the
next time I give the course he would come in and talk.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Jordan M. Young

Dear
I am sorry that I have taken so long to thank you and the
other people who participated in the talks that we had at your
headquarters last May. It was an eye opening experience and the
students, cynical as ever, seemed to have both enjoyed it and
learned something. If I ever give the course again, and I
hope to, we still would like to get someone on 'our turf'.
The information packets arrived. Thanks very much.

Thanks for the bibliographical suggestions.
Two brief questions, does your organization have any
speaker that, would like to or be able to, come to New York
and talk about the organization in an historical context?
Any Thursday in April except the 12?"would be fine. And second,
could the last seminar of the course be held at your shop in
