Per a call from Chris Andrews, Office of the Cabinet,
the President's press conference at 2:00 today will
be about the fol l ouri ng:
Fle is establishing a private sector survey
on cost control in the federal government. This
commission will consist of outstanding experts
from the private sector. They will 6e working
with the Inspector General and the Council on
Integrity and Efficiency. The emphasis will be
placed on eliminating overlap, red-tape, and dupli-
Gating and identifying non-essential administrative
activities and increasing management effectiveness.
This evaluation will begin with DoD, H&HS, and HUD.
And, in turn, the other agencies will follow. A
fact sheet will be forthcoming.
