Lieutenant General James Doolittle;/&s; head of a
small study group, was asked by the President to look at
certain phases of the work of the Central Intelligence Agency
and he has now completed this study. The President feels
that such periodic reviews are conducive to good government
and serve to give him an independent appraisal of the sensitive
aspects of the Agency. The Doolittle study does not duplicate
work of the task force of the Hoover Coanmission
ch is particularly studying the
overall organizational problems of the U. S. intelligence
