The classified report of the Clark Task Force consists of: a 30-page preface; 76 pages giving thelistory of CIA and describing the work of the DD~I and DDS; 111 pages on atomic energy intelli- gence, intelligence production, functional intelligence, personnel, security, counterintelligence, maps and libraries, coordination in overseas areas, development of new equipment and techniques and a "watch dog commission"; a 58-page appendix on the National Security Agency; a ~+~+-page appendix on communications and electronics; and a 59-page appendix on the clandestine services. 2. Inasmuch as a large portion of the 378 pages consists of description of organization and intelligence processes, those comments pertaining to CIA will be excerpted. In addition, the recaanmendations will be tabulated in cross-reference fora. with those of the Doolittle Study Group, together with what action has been taken on the latter. ~. The pertinent material will be distributed to the appropriate Deputy Directors by not later than 27 June. For the convenience of the Director, charts have been prepared showing the recommenda- tions and action. It is suggested that a special briefing be given the Director on the DD~P portion at 10:30 a.m. (following the Director's staff meeting) on 29 June, at which the DDS should also be present; and on the DD~I portion at 10:30 a.m. on 6 July . man B.
