SUBJECT: Mr. Dulles' telephone conversation with General
Christiansen, 7 December 1954
Mr. Dulles telephoned General Christiansen at 9:15 A.. M.
to confirm that General Clark would be in Washington today and
Wednesday and that he would make himself available at any time
if General Clark wished to see him. Mr. Dulles explained that
he had OCB on Wednesdays from 12:30 to about 4 P. M., but that
he would make himself available at that time if General Clark
wished.
General Christiansen stated that he understood General
Clark would arrive today at either 1:1 A. M. or 2 P. M. (he was
checking with General Ridgway's office) and that he understood
he planned to leave about 2 P. M. on Wednesday, so he felt that
General Clark would not need to interfere with the OCB meeting
if he wished to see Mr. Dulles (General Christiansen stated that
he no doubt would come with General Clark if he called on Mr.
Dulles).
Mr. Dulles asked General Christiansen if they were getting
everything they needed and General Christiansen said they were.
Mr. Dulles said he had several memoranda on reorganization which
he wished to pass to the Committee.
