Abstract: The clinical manifestations of various forms of tickbarne anceUILII-
itis and the outcome of the disease were stWied an Z10 patients (24.4,b)
immunized with inactivatei cultural vaccine and 65Z plitieWs (15.0,b) %,7 ~io had
not been imunized. The ratio or persons immunized with tlii.,~ vaccine -.1monS
those infected with the disease in ke ".rovskaya Oblast was 24.4p vs. an
average ratio of 33~ of immunized peLrsons; this indici~.ted tho superior pro-
phylactic effect of the vaccine. Only pervons particiollarly oxpo!;C-d to infec-
tion were immunized. Paralytic forms compri!ied .35.4,b of c.:~,;ojs for th-a

Abstract: A study was made of 28 patients who exhibiteig unfLateral injury
of the facial nerve after h.,-,rLng been bitten by ticks. In the seven cases
in which tickborne encephalitis was serologically confivied, the polyenceph-
alitic form prevailed and the nuclei of many cranial. neveo smre also affect-
ed. There was no relationship between tho locatiop of Oie t:Lck bite and the
side upon which the facial nerve was affected. In the :11 camts in which no
tickborne encephalitis was detected serologically, the facial nerve was sf-
fected in a different manner and the location of the tick bite determined
the side affected. The results Indicate that there is tio etLological link
betweea Isolated facial neuritis and tickborne encophalitis.

Abstract: A special investigation was made of the trifliiezwe of current C11
the process of plastic deformation and electrical rel;istanoe. 'lie ex,-eri-

(in the annealed state). Specimens in the form of vl-n-s 1.5 and 3.5

interrupted current is still more effective. Creep rate N inc-st strur.; 'y
affected by current at loade slightly above the yielf~ ii-trclin. Aftur dc-

rent have any noticeable effect on creep rate.

coatings by dispersed hard particles, demonstrates the possibility of
production of wear-resistant coatings with predeterwitied physical and
mechanical properties.

Abstracti A study was made of the effect of magiie3luri addill,,,es an the pro-
