ABSTRACT: A simple device is described which essentially coniists of a pressure pad
rubbing against a little fl7wheal mounted on the food-rolel spindle. The pad
functions as a brake whose pressure Is controlled by a spring and a lever
resting on the tape. The device is so arranged that the ~raklng pressure
decreases with the decrease of the amount of tape on the feedirsel. Thus the
tape speed becomes more uniform with the one driving motor on the take-up, real
construction adopted in Soviet amateur recorders. The above device allows
use of driving motors under 50 w capacity.
