ABSTRACT: The authors study the antifriction properties and durability of components
diffusion-plated with chromium. The specimens were put into iron containers with
I
various chrome plating mixtures and the container-, were then placed in a furnace where
ithey were heated at 1075-11000C for 6-8 hours. The chromium-containing mediim was
chromium oxide and ferrochrome. Four plating mixtures were utsed with the following
compositions (in %): 1. FeCr--50, A1203--45, VIV1-5; 2. Cr~03-40, :C-6, 111f4C1-11,
