Abstract Restilts of the observations of many years showed that the
varieties Afus. Ali and Erzhebet kirallne doinot,differ
from each other iii the str,7cture of the vegetative organs
(the Afus Ali variety is krjown in USSR under the name,
Karaburn,a). Ora plantations in Huxigary~ variety Afus Ali
varies in the shape of the berries, periods of ripening
and the structure of the berries. 3 types of Afus Ali~
variety are distinguished by the formlof the berries:
Cyliadrical, oval and ro,,.nded. The mot valuable one, is
the cylindrical type. It materes ear;licst ,,, the berries.
are of golden-yellow color, fleshy, transportable. Tho.

method of least squares. On comparing the values ofia obtained according
to the theory of slip, it is obvious that these parameters'.c,annot be.
considered as constants for the material. It is demon~utrated that the
difference in the function of local deformations# observed by 1. Iosimura~
during tensile and pure shear tests, depends on how many terms of them
polynomi/val are used for calculation. The difference 'will be small enough
if two or three terms are usedt one of vhi'ah must be a zero term a. which
is independent of T. Allowance for so confirms the sudden~developm.ent of.
-FLD. The results suggest that local shear deformations are a function,of
both tangential and normal stress, and that they depend as a whole on:the:

Moscow to see electro-slag welding applied in practice.
In October and November two delegations of 8 French
specialists and businessmen visited the Electric W61-
ding Institute. The first group was headed by Mr.
Pants, (Russian transliteration) General Presidentlof
the training center for the production of metal construe-
tions. It consisted of scientists, trade-union workers,
and managers of enterprises. The'second group,was headed
by the Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Wel-
ding'in Paris Mr. Granzhon (trankiteration).Itconsis-
ted of seven managers and welding engineers of'the
firms "Longapen", Itkroor . "Sarazen" aiia otherd.,They also
visited the Moskovskiy zavod malolitrazhnykh avtomobiley.

Welding in December. A group of welding specialists from
Czechoslovakia included Star, Komolik, Grossmann 81

China came last December, including nine leading Chin-
ese welding specialists. Two engineers came from Yugos-
lavia and stayed the end of 1959 and beginning of 1960:
