USSR since 1.950, -when thefirst _attempts at producing portable elect rona gre tic

compact and portable 0SB-IV oscillograph. is intended for earthquake recording

PERIODICAL: Referativnyy zhurnal, otdcl'nyy vypusk. 32, Izineritat'naya tekknika, no, 11, -1962, 41,

TEXT; A device is described for automatic recording of volume changes in the gas evolving in a-closed sys-.
tem in which chemical reactions occur at constant pressure. The device works on the principle of sutomatic
reduction of pressure within the system to the pressure of the surrounding medium (i,e. to atmospheric
pressure). The -sensing element of the device consists of a V-shaped differential pressure gage (manometer)
whose legs are provided with vertically located moving (threaded) needle contacts. These contlicts ensure
-increased sensitivity of the device: the absolute error in the measure Ment of volume changes docs rot exceed
:t 0. 1 %, of the volumt; of the burette used in the device. Narrow tuben may be used as gas burettes, permitting
the measurement of small volumes (3-5 cm3) with the above accuracy. The device describ-.4 was used
the authors for determining the quantity or gas evolved during thermal analysis of carbonate r0*6

The.zone,' levelling of the impurity concentration distribution in
Oe is studied. The germainiumnsamples- were- purified -by zone.melting and
ther, alloyed with various impurities. The composition.was-ebeeked by
!.'easurino, the resistivity and the Hall-emf. After some cycles of zone
ity distribution-waa--measured-
levelling the impur _(Fi1g. 1), wbich showed
that the position of the zone strongly influences the'impurity
concentration. This i3 related to the heat balance in zone levelling.
To onaure regular conditions the adoption.of annular ineots J,s recommended.

ABSTRACT: The paper fails to offer any new results, since the motion character-
ized by a linear partial integral (q=0 in the paper) has been investigated
by S. A. Chaplygin in his work "The Linear Partial Integralis of the Prob-
lem of the Motion of a Rigid Body Supported in a Single Point" (Col-
lected Works, Vol. 1, 1948). The formulas contain typesetting errors.
